This wood fired brick oven pizzeria uses only the freshest and best ingredient to create their spectacular pizzas. House made mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes and home made dough and fresh toppings are what make this pizza so good. So much so that La Piazza Al Forno is a VPN certified Neapolitan Pizzeria. VPN is the Verace Pizza Napoletana association which is a non-profit organization that safe guards and promotes the culture of real artisan Neapolitan pizza worldwide. They take their pizza seriously!
The Food Network’s Guy Fieri and the the Diners, Drive In’s and Dives crew came to visit La Piazza back in 2008. Guy cooked along side Justin and Dennis Piazza and was really impressed with the pizza and how they take the time to make their own fresh mozzarella and loved the wood fired pizzas! With pizzas like the Bianca ( fresh mozzarella, ricotta cheese, extra virgin olive oil and garlic and basil) or the Italian Stallion ( a meat lovers dream). You know it’s gotta be good if the Food Network is checking it out.
The menu also has pasta dishes like ravioli, linguine and clam sauce, spaghetti and meatballs and also an Italian staple, chicken marsala. They also have antipasti dishes like fried calamari and fresh mozzarella and tomatoes and salads and of course you have to end a nice Italian meal with a cannoli or piece of home made cheesecake.
La Piazza Al Forno is located in the historic downtown Glendale area at Glendale Avenue and 58th Avenue. They do accept call ahead seating if you have a group of 6 or more.
