Northwest Valley Public Parks and Preserves

walking pathThe family friendly Northwest Valley has several beautiful public parks and preserves for everyone to enjoy.  Having a multitude of popular parks is a fantastic amenity for both buyers and sellers of homes as they provide opportunities for fitness activities, sports and play.

Farther north is the Deem Hills Community Park, located at 51st Avenue and Deem Hills Parkway (just north of Happy Valley Road).  This 40-acre park features amenities such as a playground for children age 2-5, ramadas, a walking path, restrooms, a lighted basketball court and 2 lighted soccer fields.  The Deems Hills Recreation Area is nearby, located at 39th Avenue and Pinnacle Vista.  This beautiful preservce includes 8 ½ miles of hiking trails and a picnic ramada.

To the south is Adobe Mountain Park, 35th Avenue and Deer Valley Road, is a 5-acre park with amenities such as two ramadas, a children’s playground, a ball field and a large open space area.  The park includes area lighting, making this a good choice for a night-time destination.

Further west is the Palo Verde Park, located at 26200 N. 73rd Drive.  Amenities in this 4-acre park include 2 shaded playgrounds, a walking path, 2 half court basketball courts, ramadas as well as a scenic overlook.     Heading south can be found two parks in Fletcher Heights.  Fletcher Heights North Park, located at 7877 W. Hillcrest Boulevard, is another 4-acre park with 2 lighted basketball courts, a shaded playground, a .30 miles walking path and picnic ramadas.  Fletcher Heights Park to the south, located at 8135 W. Lone Cactus Drive, is a 7.5-acre park with 4 picnic ramadas, 2 lighted tennis courts and 3 lighted basketball courts.  This park also features a shaded playground and restrooms.

To the east of these parks is the wonderful Thunderbird Conservation Park, a 1,185-acre park located in the Hedgpeth Hills.  This park features 15 miles of multi-use trails, perfect for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking and jogging.  Picnicking and bird watching are other popular activities in this park.
