Upscale Dining and Retail Coming to Peoria

Have you heard about the new 83 Marketplace being built in Peoria? The new 9-acre site is being developed by MDC Land Development, on the Southeast corner of 83rd Avenue & Happy Valley Road in North Peoria. 83 Marketplace will be approximately 50,000 square feet of high-end retail and restaurant space and is set to open Spring 2019. This new project is great news for the growing and vibrant Peoria community. 83 Marketplace will bring new jobs, economic growth and tax producing revenue to the community.

Several exciting new restaurants are already set to open at 83 Marketplace:

Deem Proper – A locally owned and operated contemporary kitchen and bar that will feature globally inspired menu options and local craft beer.

S & V Urban Italian – Traditional Italian fare with a modern twist, and wood fire brick oven pizza.

AVENIDA Modern Mexican – A modern twist on traditional Mexican, this restaurant will feature made-from-scratch dishes and hand-crafted margaritas and cocktails.

Bagels on Fire – Started in Toronto Canada, Bagels on Fire features bagels made the old-fashioned way, boiled in honey water and baked in a fire brick oven.

Residents are excited for new growth and business coming to the community. We can’t wait to hear what other fantastic new restaurants and retail shops are going to open! You can learn more about how this exciting new project is developing by visiting.

Arizona Restaurant Week Fall 2014

restaurant weekArizona Restaurant Week Fall 2014 is September 19-28. This affair offers foodies a plethora of dinning opportunities they might not typically choose and the chance to get outside their own neighborhood to try something different. Options are endless, ranging from spicy Southwestern to fine-dining options to soothing comfort food. Restaurants offer special pre-fixe menus and pricing during restaurant week, so it’s the perfect time to try new fare. Prepare your taste buds for some of the best food in the Valley!

Here, I outline some of my favorite restaurants participating in Restaurant Week Fall 2014. Be sure to check out the Arizona Restaurant Week website for all 139 greater phoenix restaurants. More restaurants are being added daily. Click on any of the restaurant names below to visit their website.

My favorites in the Valley:

The Mission: Latin Cuisine; Don’t miss the Primarita margarita or the espresso churros; Hands down my favorite restaurant in Greater Phoenix

Beckett’s Table: American Comfort Food; Don’t miss the hand-crafted cocktails or the grits

The Gladly: Contemporary American; Don’t miss the chimichurri chicken or the whiskey list, I’m a whiskey snob & the list here is phenomenal

Betty’s Nosh, 67th Ave. & Loop 101, specializes in stuffed mushrooms & seafood; Firebird’s Wood Fired Grill, 83rd Ave. south of Bell Rd., specializes in steaks & seafood; The Melting Pot, locations throughout the Valley, specializes in fondue meals, great for a group.
