Goodyear

One of the valley’s fastest-growing communities is making waves on a national scale: Goodyear is ranking as one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. An abundance of land, a consistent powerhouse for the workforce and big-time business benefits draw residents and businesses to a community famous for excellent schools, quality of life and a “city away from the city” energy—all while still just a 20-minute drive from downtown Phoenix.

Did you know that the city was recently recognized as the highest-rated government workplace in the nation by the National Research Center (NRC) at Polco? Did you know that the city of Goodyear and Globe Corporation were honored on November 27 at the WESTMARC 2022 Best of the West Awards? The new Goodyear Civic Center includes a new city hall, new two-story library, two-acre park for community events and gatherings, upscale office space and space for new restaurants, retail and entertainment.  Goodyear Civic Square at GSQ took the top honor for Economic Engine which recognizes the creation of significant economic outcomes and/or job creation for the West Valley.

For residents, options abound in real estate, with everything from single-family homes in thoughtful master-planned communities to luxury high-rise condominiums flanking the Goodyear Ballpark. Notable is the Estrella master-planned community, set on 72 acres of lakes and a golf course. A mix of single-family production homes, custom designs and a gated, age-restricted area complement community amenities such as proximity to trails in Estrella Mountain Regional Park and activities at Starpointe Residents Club. Estrella is home to about 10,000 residents with many more to come.

The 9,000-acre Palm Valley area is located north of I-10 and offers a variety of single-family homes and townhomes among careful suburban planning. While the community broke ground twenty years ago, new builds are still available, and existing residences offer beautiful Santa Fe-styled exteriors. Active adults seeking a luxury retirement community enjoy the country club feel and recreation options of Pebble Creek, located north of the I-10 between the 303 and Litchfield Park.

The recent growth explosion means living in Goodyear has never been better. Residents enjoy the community’s locale near the Estrella Mountains and natural desert landscape, where biking and hiking are popular pastimes. The state-of-the-art Goodyear Ballpark is a hub for Cactus League Spring Training and seasonal local events. And the sprawling, mixed-use Market at Estrella Falls caters to residents seeking specialty shops, retail and entertainment (plus, an expansion is in the works for a lifestyle center). Six public school districts and several private schools serve Goodyear residents.
