Litchfield Park

Litchfield Park, an intimate home for about 5,000 West Valley residents, has its share of local love: It was recognized by Phoenix Magazine as one of “8 best places to live in Arizona.” But what makes this community so special for homeowners (and metro-area visitors)?

Anchored around historic Wigwam Resort, Litchfield Park is an oasis of mature citrus trees and palms and family-friendly dining and activities. The Wigwam deserves special mention as the town’s primary employer and community centerpiece: Established in 1918 by Ohio-based Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as a hub for farming cotton for use in tires, the complex grew over the years to welcome guests and stand resplendent in its restored glory. Now, it’s earned a designation as a Historic Hotel of America and grown as a four-star golf and spa-centric resort—and a generational community center. You don’t have to be a resort guest to enjoy The Wigwam’s annual calendar of events, from Oktoberfest, to Arts in the Park, to outdoor concert series.

The downtown business district is hopping with locally-owned shops and restaurants, and places like the Old Pueblo Cafe and Pub pack the patios on splendid Arizona evenings. Golfers will love the proximity to renowned courses such as The Wigwam Golf Club. And for families, Litchfield Park is a perfect paradise. A fantastic school district may draw families here, but they’ll stay busy with community events, parks and recreation activities and trips to the nearby Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium. The Zoo has Arizona’s largest collection of exotic animals, plus year-round fair rides and a ride-through safari park.

As a dynamic and developing region with a historical heart, Litchfield Park is an excellent choice for anyone seeking a small-town feel with proximity to big-city amenities. Being just 20 miles from Downtown Phoenix means you can drive in for a Diamondbacks MLB game or Suns NBA game with the family, or just 8 miles to a Cardinals NFL game at the nearby University of Phoenix Stadium.
