Peoria

Peoria, Arizona is a dynamic community northwest of Phoenix with more than 154,000 residents. The city was founded in 1886 by settlers from Illinois.  During the recent gowth boom, this one time farming community became one of the nations’ fastes growing cities. Peoria was officially incorporated in 1954.

The city is home to Lake Pleasant – the state’s second largest lake and the Peoria Sports Complex – spring training facility and home of the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners.

Peoria recently celebrated the opening of its third community park, Paloma Community Park, which opened in October 2020. At 85 glorious acres, the park draws residents from throughout the community. Some of the ammenities include Multi-Purpose Sports Fields, Pickelball Courts, Fishing Lake, Splash Pad, Dog Park, Playground and so much more. There is something for everyone. Phase Two is now in the works and with an additional 40 acres it will provide connections to surrounding open spaces and trail systems.

Peoria is a dedicated supporter of the arts community and proud  of the award-winning facilities incluuding the Peorica Center for the Performing Arts and Rio Vista Community Park and Recreation Center. Peoria is also home to such non profit organizations such as the Challenger Space Center, West Valley Art Museum and Arizona Broadway Theatre. Coupled with the miles and miles of hiking trails, endless shopping and dining and entertainment options, Peoria was listed among the 100 “Best Places to Live”, according to Money magazine.
