Active Adult Communities

In 1960 Del Webb built the first age-restricted adult community in Sun City. Since then many active adult communities  have been developed in Arizona to meet the needs of the increasing population of retirees moving to the Valley of the Sun.  For many years retirees have been attracted to Arizona because of the year-round-sun, the multitude of recreational activities, sports venues and cultural attractions. There are now approx 100,000 homes in 55-plus adult communities in Arizona with Phoenix and the surrounding communities having the largest population of Active Adult Retirement Communities.

One of the many reasons retirees are drawn to the Active Adult Lifestyle is the never ending recreational options available in each of these communities.  Most of these communities have at least 1 clubhouse with fitness centers, swimming pools, meeting rooms, studios and ballrooms.  They also typically have tennis courts, bocce ball, and pickleball courts and of course golf. As you know there is no shortage of golf courses in Arizona and most of these communities have at least one golf course, if not more.
