15 Sep Top Spots for Ravenous Football Fans
Football season has officially started! Now where to go to watch the games, get some great food and drinks and hang out with your buddies. There are lots of great locales in the west valley near the Glendale and Peoria areas. Here are some top picks.
R.T. O’Sullivans Sports Grill located on Bell Road and 59th Avenue has just what you are looking for in a neighborhood sports bar. Food is your typical bar fare from appetizers like wings, nachos and potato skins. They also offer salads, sandwiches with names like the dublin dip and the paddy melt and of course burgers. There are entree choices as well if you are looking for a little bit more than a burger. Shepherd’s Pie, Corned Beef & Cabbage and Fish N Chips make an appearance at this Irish inspired location. If you are planning on getting out to watch an early game on Sunday they also have a breakfast menu and of course you can wash everything down with beverages from the bar! Plenty of TV’s with all of the action await you.

Another great spot in the Glendale area is Oggie’s Pizza & Brewing Co., located just off the 101 and 67th Avenue. This restaurant is a great spot to make yourself comfortable on a Sunday or Monday Night to watch your favorite team win. There are TV’s all over so you won’t miss any great plays and you can watch all the games (great for those fantasy football fanatics). The menu leans more towards the italian side with great pizzas, calzones and pastas but they also offer up salads and burgers along with great flat bread appetizers. I have to say their beer selections are great, not what you typically would see, more of a micro brew with things like Torrey Pines IPA, Duck Dive Hefeweizen and Black Magic Stout you are sure to fine one that suits your taste buds! They offer great specials every day of the week so check it out!

There is a great location that is relatively new to the west side of town. Buffalo Wild Wings located at the Shops at Norterra. This friendly restaurant/bar features plenty of TV’s even out on the patio area. Of course their claim to fame is the wings both traditional and boneless served with the typical wing fixin’s of bleu cheese or ranch, celery and carrots. They also have all of the football food you expect to see like burgers, sandwiches and salads and there are plenty of beer options to wash it down.
