Get Fit In 2019

Get Fit In 2019

Most of us start a new year with resolutions for success or personal growth or to get fit.  If increasing your fitness level is your 2019 New Year’s Resolution list, you don’t have to be stuck in a gym on a treadmill.  Get out and get motivated with some fun outdoor events.  Arizona has perfect winter/spring weather so take advantage!    Glendale has some fun events to get you started:

COLOR RUN
The annual Luke Youth Programs Color Run at Fowler Park will be held January 19th, 2019. This 2 mile “fun run” for all ages and abilities will be  held at Glendale’s Fowler Park (Litchfield Rd & Glendale Ave). So gather your family and friends and form a team to run, walk or volunteer at this year’s Youth Programs Color Run. Check-in is from 9:00am-9:45am, and the run starts at 10am. YOGA AND MEDITATION
White Tantric Yoga And Meditation will be holding a 1-day workshop at the Glendale Civic Center (5750 West Glenn Dr, Glendale, 85301) on Saturday, February 2nd, 2019. White Tantric Yoga is done in pairs as a group meditation. You sit facing a partner and follow instructions for meditation given on video by the Mahan Tantric, Yogi Bhajan. A representative of the Mahan Tantric will be present to facilitate White Tantric Yoga. Each workshop consists of between six and eight kriyas. A kriya is a meditation incorporating one or all of the following: a yoga posture (asana), a breathing technique (pranayam), a mental focus (mantra) and a hand position (mudra). Beginners are welcome, as there are no prerequisites for participating in White Tantric Yoga. More advanced meditation practitioners will deepen their experience and make new inroads to their spiritual awareness.
