10 Jun Crystal Lagoon Breaks Ground!
The official groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday, July 10th for the Crystal Lagoons Island Resort in Glendale at 95th Ave and Cardinals Way. The “one of a kind” entertainment district will offer a 10-acre lagoon, as well as shopping, themed restaurants, attractions, and entertainment venues. In total, the venue will be a total of 48- acres adjacent to Glendale’s Westgate Entertainment District and State Farm Stadium.
Crystal Lagoon resort officials were joined at the ceremony by Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers and Yucca District Councilmember Joyce Clark. The City of Glendale projects the project will create about 1,800 jobs for the area and generate about $700 million in tax revenue for the State of Arizona.
The Crystal Lagoons Resort is projected to be open 2022 ahead of Glendale hosting the 2023 Super Bowl at State Farm Stadium.
